AI voice coach
The AI running coach that talks to you.
A voice running coach in your earbuds. It reads your GPS, heart rate and cadence live, speaks up at the right moment, and answers when you ask it something mid-run.

A coach before, during and after every run.
Most running apps read numbers at you. RunWay’s coach looks at the whole run: the workout you picked, your readiness, the weather, how the last kilometer went. Then it says one useful thing, at the right time, in plain words.
- Before. A short briefing on the start screen, written for today’s workout. Tap Listen to hear it.
- During. A cue every kilometer, at halfway, when your pace drifts or your heart rate climbs above the zone, on hills, and when the goal gets close.
- After. A debrief in plain words, with your splits, zones and records, and a story to share.

Ask it anything, out loud.
Hold the mic button and ask, the way you would ask a coach riding a bike next to you: “Can I hold this pace?” “How far to go?” Your coach answers from your live numbers, right in your ears. No stopping, no squinting at the screen.
- Answers from your run. Pace, time left, heart rate, the next step of your workout.
- Music out of the way. Your music dips while you ask and while it answers, then comes back.

Your coach, your way.
Pick a personality: drill sergeant, motivator, analytical, zen, supportive or jokester. Choose how often it talks (Quiet, Normal or Chatty), add a status update every 5, 10 or 15 minutes, and set its volume from 30 to 160 % so it sits clearly above your music.
- Natural voices. In English and in French, with native French voices.
- It remembers. Mention a sore knee or your race in the Coach tab chat and it keeps it in mind: up to 15 short notes you can see, edit or delete.
- Same voice after the run. The debrief comes in your coach’s style, with your splits beneath it.

Everything around the voice.
The details that make a coach you can run with every day.
Your music stays on
The coach lowers your music while it talks, then brings it back. Podcasts pause, then resume.
Works offline
No signal? It keeps talking with built-in phrases and the iPhone voice. Online, the AI writes the lines.
Safety from fixed rules
Alerts like a very high heart rate come from fixed rules in the app, never from the AI.
Phone in your pocket
The screen can stay off. Your numbers show on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
No watch needed
Your iPhone and any Bluetooth earbuds are enough. Watch runs join your history through Apple Health.
AI only with your consent

FAQ
Is there a running app that talks to you?
Yes. RunWay’s coach talks in your earbuds during the run: kilometer splits, pace and heart-rate cues, guided intervals and encouragement. Hold the mic button to ask it a question, and it answers out loud from your live numbers.
Does it work with Spotify or Apple Music?
Yes. Keep your music app playing: the coach lowers the music while it talks, then brings it back. Podcasts and audiobooks that mark their audio as spoken are paused, then resume. Our guide to running with music and a voice coach covers the best settings.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. With no signal, your coach keeps talking with built-in phrases and the iPhone voice. When you’re online, the AI writes the lines and speaks them with a natural voice.
Is the AI coach free?
The app is free, with no subscription and no ads, and the built-in coach always talks to you. The AI coach (tailor-made lines and natural voices) uses coaching time: you get free hours when you sign up, then optional packs of 3, 10 or 30 hours, with no expiry.
Is this medical advice?
No. RunWay is for training and wellness only. Safety alerts, such as a very high heart rate, come from fixed rules in the app, not from the AI. If something feels wrong, stop and talk to a health professional.
